TV-am favourites reunite for special BFI celebration
Some of TV-am’s best-known faces are coming together for a special event at BFI Southbank on Tuesday November 24th, 2026 celebrating the station’s place in television history and helping support the preservation of its programmes.
Good Morning, Britain: TV-am Revisited will be hosted by actor, comedian and BFI Ambassador Sanjeev Bhaskar. Joining him will be Lorraine Kelly, Nick Owen, Lizzie Webb, Gyles Brandreth, Lisa Aziz and Timmy Mallett.
The two-hour event will revisit the mixture of news, entertainment, children’s programmes and fitness that made TV-am part of the morning routine for millions of viewers.
TV-am began broadcasting on 1 February 1983 and remained on air until 31 December 1992. As Britain’s first independent breakfast television station, it brought viewers coverage of major news events alongside celebrity interviews and familiar faces from its Camden studios.
For former staff and viewers alike, the reunion offers a chance to look back at the people and programmes that gave the station its distinctive character.
The event marks the launch of The BFI Collections Fund. Five pounds from every ticket will support the fund, which helps the BFI National Archive undertake work including the digitisation and preservation of the TV-am collection.
Those recordings preserve more than memorable television moments: they offer a daily record of the news, personalities and everyday concerns of the period.
Tickets are listed at £17, with concessions at £14. BFI Members receive a £2.50 discount. The event begins at 6pm.
