TV-am's 25th Anniversary, click to find out more

Were you there?

Can you help us?

Preserving the history of any organisation depends on help and contributions from those who were involved every day.  The same goes for TV-am and we’d really like to hear from you!   Please get in touch and let us know how you contributed to the life of the world’s first breakfast television station so we can build a fuller picture of this remarkable TV company.

Survey

Lots of former TV-am staff have already been in touch with details about their time working for the company.  If you worked for TV-am and would like to fill in our short questionaire, please email us.  We can post  or email the survey to you.  All completed forms will be held in the archive for future reference.   Personal details will be treated confidentially.  We would like to know what you did, when you joined the company, or when you appeared on the programme as a guest or interviewee.  We’d especially like to hear from people involved in the launch of TV-am. Did you work on the very first programme?

Archive

Stop!  Don't throw it out!!  If you have any TV-am related material that could be preserved in our massive archive we would love to hear from you. Booklets, documents, photographs, promotional items, staff booklets, anything…please let us know!       TV-am material will be preserved for years to come and some of it may be made available to people researching the history of ITV breakfast television.   Although we are always happy to credit contributors, any information you provide will NOT be for publication without your consent and will be treated confidentially.

Former head of autocue, Judith Kelly (Marcus), kindly sent us this photo of the TV-am Tennis Team, above.  Can you name all the players?

What about this picture below of the TV-am crew on location for "By the Seaside" in August 1983.  The roadshow was in Rhyl and you can clearly see Mad Lizzie Webb working out on stage, while presenter Chris Tarrant walks off set.  But do you know any of the other Tv-am people featured?   Please get in touch!

Above vision and lighting circa 1984. Left to right they are Tim Smith (Vis), Tim Moulson (Vis), John O’Donnell (Spark) with Billy Brookes (Spark) on his lap, Kevin Creighton (Spark) and Len Moss (lighting).

Above sound man Dave Townsend on studio floor in 1983.  Picture shows original kitchen area and weather board.   Below director Nick Wilson at an OB with a wonderful TV-am van in the background!

Thank you!

A big thank you to all former staff and contributors who've already provided us with photos and information.   If you think you can help, or would like a copy of the questionaire, please email us at:  info@tv-am.org.uk

We'd also like to hear from you if you answered the advert below, published in the national press in 1982 before TV-am's launch.
