"I got 9 TV-AM VHS Tapes and I enjoy watching them. Lizze Webb working out to that old pop tune called so do i. On the 1/2/90. "
Gavin Martin , Birmingham

"i just wanted to say what a brilliant website this is for us nostalgic types! i was only young when this great show graced our tv screens but it seemed great. such a shame everything is uniform nowadays"
Phil , Lichfield

"What a great website! I used to watch TV-am before school and loved every minute of it!"
Mathew Charles , London

"Can't believe it's so long since TV-am went off air. Nice to see such a good website dedicated to it... and to see how all our favourite presenters are getting on now!"
Andrew Sainsbury , Norwich

"What a great site! So good to see TV-am's history preserved for years to come and that so many people have an interest. Here's hoping for a TV-am comeback!!"
Chris , Scotland

"This is an absolutely fantastic site. A trip down memory lane and a great resource for anyone who wants to learn about Britain's first commercial breakfast tv station. "
Jamie , Glasgow

"Love the site, excellent! I loved TV-am and was gutted when they finished, even today, GMTV is not a patch on it. Any chance of more picture of the building inside, even up to date ones now it's owed by MTV? Would be nice to see a then and now one!"
Simon Betts , Ipswich

"How wonderful to see the spirit and interest in TVam kept alive by this great website. Congratulations! I'll keep you updated with all that I'm doing ... it would be lovely to hear from other presenters too!"
Lizzie Webb......not so Mad!

"A fantastic site dedicated to a fantastic breakfast tv station! Can TVam be brought back to our screens to replace the awful GMTV???There must be a way of bringing TVam back and i would be willing to sign a petition or something??? TVam was much better - im forced to watch bbc1 now or listen to the radio!Breakfast time has not been the same since 31st Dec 1992."
Roy , Horndean, Hampshire

"Again only being so young when TV-am was on air, I do remember watching it during Summer Holidays in 1990 and working out to Lizzie! The memories! Time to bring it back me thinks! :)"
Mark Blackman , Huyton, Merseyside

"So many memories have come flooding back... the fans swimming the canal when Bros. were on; Vanilla Ice's entourage announcing 'the ice is melting' as he made his way into the studio; and everywhere, pink, pink, pink...!!"
Lucinda Webb...ex TV-am press office , Portsmouth

"I would just like to congratulate the team for putting together such a fantastic website, to preserve the history of tv-am for many years to come. Keep up the good work!"
Darren Stevenson , Shepshed, Loughborough

"An amazing website. Anorakish with glamour. Where is Ulrika? Love Lizzie! It was a great show that nurtured lots of talents and spawned the GMTV of today - which can't be bad!!"
Trudy , Sheffield

"How excellent to see all the old faces back. And wow what great times bunking off school just to watch after nine. hehehe dont tell mum.. Why dont you bring TV-AM back for one last hit do us a 5 min pice with your old set.. It would be awsome to see TV-AM again in living colour. "
Jay Jackson , Juice FM BRIGHTON

"This was a breakfast station with a real iconic identity; the eggs, the colours; the theme tune. I visited the studios not long after its final broadcast; the sunrise colours had been painted grey and the spectacular 3D TV-am logo had been boarded up. What a shame. GMTV, with its dull celebrity-based content and dreary theme tune, has never managed to fill the space left by TV-am. Margaret Thatcher was devastated when the news broke and I can see why. What a mistake! "
Aaron Morris , Leeds

"I passed by the old TV-am studios last night after clubbing in Camden and today I found this very interesting website. I was very young when TV-am was on, but I still remember waking up early of a weekend to watch timmy mallet on wacaday! Any chance at all of some kind of comeback in the next ITV franchise renewal?"
Lee , London

"Great to see a website dedicated to TV.am Pity TV.am isnt still broadcasting, commercial television hasn't been the same since 31/12/92. Bring back TV.am, Thames and TVS."
Mark Brearley , Leeds

"What a real shame that TV-am is no longer on air, and what a long time it has been. I spent my childhood growing up with programs such as the Wide Awake Club, - GMTV has never met that standard of childrens programming.I am lucky to have a VHS of the final Good Morning Britain. The fact that TV-am lost their licence is still today one of the worst things ever inacted by the ITC. TV-am would have thrived in today's television landscape in Britain. This is a great site and a fitting tribute to the station. "
Christian Mitchell , Taunton, Somerset (now Melbourne, Australia)

"Fantastic website. Great to see TV-AM thriving on the internet. The highlight for me was when Anne Diamond on Good Morning Britain interviewed Kylie Minogue in 1988 or 1989. It's such a shame TV-AM is off the box. Your TV-AM museum should have a permanent offline base in London, it would be a huge London tourist attraction to rival the London Eye. I also think that the BBC should bring back the fantastic programme that Anne Diamond and Nick Owen presented in the 1990's, Good Morning With Anne and Nick. Does anyone feel the same way as me??"
Gavin Mabbott , Macclesfield Cheshire

"A most professional website. So many memories of TV-am when I was a child: sunny morning television with a smile. And who could forget a certain rat...? Roland Rat! As much history about anything and everything in this world, including media like this, should be archived and displayed for all to see because, once it has gone, it's gone. Best of luck with the site. "
Carl Stock , Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire

"Thank you you were very helpful researching a song! I must say though the writing is ever so small on you web page, can hardly read it. But thanks!"
Gemma Noble , Wrexham

"I've known Ian for 26 years and TV-AM has been a big part of his life for as long as I can remember. It seems fitting that he is STILL as involved now as he was all those years ago. I hope that you get all the support you need. A great website and a deserving host."
Neil Donaldson , Newcastle upon Tyne

"I can't believe how much archive material there is on this website! It brings back so many happy memories of what now seems a bygone age of TV. Keep up the good work and put 10 packs of TVAM matches to one side for me please."
Daryl Wintle , Leeds

"I didn't know what TV-AM is because i was born in 1992.But i do know GMTV. I have seen clips of tv am - the best bits are music and titles. I hope TV-AM does come back to our screens."
Adam Frost , Leeds

"It was a pleasure to go back down memory lane, takes me back some years, well done to all the team."
Angela , LIVERPOOL

"What a fantastic site ! As a child, I can fondly remember getting up early to get ready for school and watching the title card on the screen saying that "Good Morning Britain will follow shortly". I will always remember that strange tingle one had when seeing the TV-am logo burst onto the screen and leading straight into the Good Morning Britain montage of coreographed sheep, skydivers et al. It really would be great to see the station back on the air."
Craig Handley , Merthyr Tydfil

"Bring back TV-AM!!! Time moves on and we have all changed but how we all loved TV-AM. Excellent site. I want those matches! "
Robert Dawson , London

"Great to visit the site today for the first time. Well done to all concerned . I was the financial adviser with Anne Daimond and Nick Owen 1985-6 Fond memories of Anne, Nick, Lizzie and Wincey ! Do get in touch ! Not so fond of memories of being verbally attacked by Robert Maxwell over my defence of Freddie Laker and his battle with BA - 1985 !Still makes me shudder! Remember a long chat during the Miners strike with Arthur Scargill . He was right after all -that all the mines were due for closure under secret agenda. No one really believed him then! Fond memories of Jimmy Greaves even though he regularly ran over time and into my 5 minute slot causing chaos !Thanks Jimmy ! and also a then little known gardener called Alan Titchmarsh, seems to have done rather well ! Hello Alan! Am still in touch with my brilliant graphic designer, Tim Riley .I am still giving financial advice 21 years later! My email is roger.smith@fosterdenovo.com Best wishes to all ."
Roger Smith , London and Cornwall

"TV-am seemed to position itself as the viewers friend with lots of positive lifestyle items. There was no unpleasent tabloid agenda which dug dirt on celebrities private lives, unlike other channels. Instead, I have memories of very happy viewing. As a format it certainly could return and with many channels struggling to fill the breakfast slot, the TV-am brand could once again prove to be a winner if placed on a digital channel."
Ben Pearson , Hackney, London

"What a delight to see the old logo again. Congratulations on creating such an impressive memorial. In its brief life TVAM had a rich, and sometimes painful history. The ACTT strike and subsequent sackings still reverberate through the TV industry, but the quality of TVAM's output was high, it was a unique place to work, and it's good to see that people still remember and miss it."
Marian S. (former TVAM -er) , Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland

"What a great website, I've heard my mum talk about TV-AM but I was too young to remember."
Andre Barrett , London, UK

"A lot of hard work has gone into this truly wonderful tribute to TV-am. I remember watching the very first edition of Daybreak and Good Morning Britain that Tuesday on the 1st February 1983 at 6am on ITV. Although they had their ups and their downs they TV-am provided us with the UK's best known ITV Breakfast Television service for almost 10 years ! I had the pleasure of seeing their former home in Camden earlier this month May 2006 you could tell it was Egg Cup House as on the back of the Building at Camden Lock the Egg cups remain on the building to this day and although the TV-AM signs have been covered over at the front of the building on Hawley Cres you can still tell it was their home between 1983 and 1992. Best Regards!"
Rob Lubbock , Shepshed, Leicestershire East Midlands

"A great chunk of my life, TV-AM - saw me through from the age of 17 to the age of 27. There was Mad Lizzie (I couldn't do the excercises at that time of the morning, but Lizzie was so happy and charming I enjoyed watching and she encouraged me to go to the gym!); Then there were Anne and Nick - such a good pairing; lovely Jenni Barnett; the very excellent Wincey; and Roland and Kevin (with his pink bucket). They were happy days... Seeing all the pictures... well, to be quite honest, I didn't realise just how nostalgic it would seem. Thanks for this. I hope the site prospers."
Andy Brett , England

"What an excellent site.TV-am was the best Breakfast Channel and is still missed today.Would'nt it be great if channel 4 or 5 brought it back?it would be goodbye GMTV.Keep up the good work and when you going to get the TV-am theme music on the site?"
Stuart Morley , Glenfield,Leicester

"I grew up with TV-am and watched every morning before I went to school, only wish I could get up that early nowadays but it doesnt seem so easy! A fantastic site providing an awesome trip down memory lane."
Simon White , Plymouth

"do you know now what mike morris does after he left ytv "
stuart , liverpool

"I loved TV-am and it inspired me to become a television presenter! I was lucky enough to 'sing in the shower' on WAC and have my own 'WAC PAC'!! Also, I recently worked in Studio 3 at Hawley crescent which I'm pretty sure used to be a wardrobe room!....it was small! GREAT web site. "
James McCourt , London

"Any one who can speak clearly and make sense at breakfast deserves to be on TV!"
Andy , W. Sussex

"Great site, Many fond memories of returning from my paper round to the tones of anne and nick and on a saturday looking foward to the Wide awake club,as with Thames it was very sad to see the company go off the air at the end of 92. Keep up the good work"
Neil , North London

"TV-AM was the best and only breakfast tv station ever! i was very young when TV-AM was on the air, i was born in 1984 and i can remember TV-AM as far back as 1989-onwards up to 1992 when it went off air. I remember the saturday shows like WAC and top banana and during the GMB in the weekdays before i went to school they used to show dasterday & mutley cartoons, BRING BACK TV-AM!!!! if i ever win the euro millions lottery when they have a huge jackpot i would use all that money to kick out GMTV and bring back TV-AM! really...i would!"
Selim , London/Essex

"A excellent site to keep TV-am memory alive. I miss the days of waking up early, listerning to the test card music waiting for the famous intro to Good Morning Britain to start. Now TV is now 24 hours it is not the same anymore! If anyone from MTV is reading this please look after that building in Hawley Crescent, it could use a few coats of paint around the back!"
Chris Bamber , Manama, Kingdom Of Bahrain

"In the North East we recieved the test programming for breakfast telly so were eager for the launch of a proper early morning service. TV-am let no one down, a high quality service with ground breaking programmes. What I really liked was the attitude or per haps better discribed as the personality of the station. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they were doing they had a real passion for news. Today much of this type of programming is boring and unimaginative. In a way the short lifespan of the station is apt, it is like a movie star who has died after a short but full life - we were left wanting more. I love the website and would love to see TV am return, the title and the signiture tune for GMB were aboslutely fantastic. I still think about TV am on a regular basis and wonder what those involved are up to. "
steve reay , gateshead

"I loved TV-AM and I think the website is brilliant. Keep up the fantastic work!"
Karl , Manchester

"Hi this is a brillant website to remind us of the mornings watching tv-am. It would be great if a merchandise shop was up and running to buy video clips and memobrilia of the tv am logo.....Keep up the good work on the web site."
Martin, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

"did tv-am make any more programmes than what was shown between there 6 -9.25 slot ? "
Stuart Parr , liverpool

"I spent 9 fantastic years in the ad sales dept (hic). Great times and so pleased to come across this site - well done! "
Peter Berkeley , Muswell Hill, London

"I have great memories of watching Tv am, I loved it, Roland Rat, Lizzie Webb, Timmy Mallet, great news, and features and lots of great celbrity chats, just some of the stuff I remember of Tv am. But another is the titles with the egg cups from 1983, Youtube has great memoroes too, for die hard fans, of Tv am. "
Katie Fraser , Hertfordshire

"I was there as a Cameraman, before launch, through to the Big Sacking,(after the dispute). It was a halcyon period, knowing that it was going to be historic, even though we didn't realise quite how much so. I met some great people, had a great time, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I miss it more than I thought I would!! Good luck to everyone out there that remembers me!"
joe piotrowski , london

"So many fantastic memories, bright, loving, energetic fun people always a smile whatever was happening in the world and personally, wonderful warm parties, just so much going on. In a world full of doubt and fear, wouldn't it be inspirational to have TVam back! My lovely Mom worked for the station (Lis Eiken) as Duty Officer, and various desks including the features desk, she made amazingly beautiful friends who she is still in contact with, I had fantastic opportunities open to me, that I may add I wish I had taken (Weather girl)! I did take some of them, and fulfilled some of my girlie dreams!! one of them was cuddling up to AHHA the Norsk pop band! also wearing a Bo-Peep pink wedding dress for June Bride Week 1986!! I hasten to add I married a musician in a very Hippie wedding Bow/& Battersea wearing boots and fairy queen/elfin dress!! fond memories of all the fun times...........THANKYOU TVam and all who sailed in her! xxx Sara B"
Sara Bentely (Eiken) , West Sussex

"Happy days The Programme was always fun there was no doom and gloom as there was with some it is a pleasure to watch"
Sanda W , Rye East Sussex

"i was fortunate enough to appear on tv-am along with my school choir at christmas 1984 i remembering having a fantastic day and met loads of people. i remember irene handle and henry kelly were appearing on the show also. thank you for taking me down memory lane. rebecca coleman"
rebecca coleman (previously sheppard) , london

"TVAM was simply the best!! Who can ever forget that guy with the moustache. It also interviewd Brian and Roger from (Queen), just after Mr. Mercury's death. What a fab morning breakfast show. Bring it back I say!!!!!!!!!!!"
Michael Watson , Newcastle upon Tyne

"I really enjoyed tv-am i watched every morning before i went to school i loved roland rat during the school holidays and who could forget timmy mallet and his bird magic in wacaday i would love to see it back also loved the theme tune to it ive been searching the web and cant get it anywhere."
Keith Wellens , Middleton Manchester

"Fantastic!!,i've just discovered the tv-am website,i was in my twenties when tv-am was at it's prime ,it brings back great memories of great times and great television and when people cared about quality tv.well done to you all for keeping the best itv franchise alive (long live tv-am !!)"
Jon Ashby , Somerset

"A brilliant site - what an effort has gone into it! I worked there in my first job after graduating and it remains the happiest workplace I've ever been in. I still recall the feeling you got walking from the dark miserable street at 4am into the 'sunshiney' reception with palm trees! Shame the interior is not nearly the same now..At least post-strike a big effort was put into training and launching people's careers in tv - are you listening GMTV?!"
John Logan , East London

"Wil never forget tv am or good morning britain. absolutley brilliant to find this website but at the same time sad. Always wanted a sweat shirt!"
Colin Hunter , Auckland New Zealand

"The demise of TV-am was a sad loss to British Television, great to see it's name and memories kept alive by this excellent site"
Martin Jukes , Rochester, England

"Brings back strange deja vu feeling to hear tv-am theme after all this time. It was my childhood memory of tv,quite sad it's over."
Neil P , Aberdeen

"I was pleased to find TV AM again even on the net. I have fond memories of this TV station. It was a great shame to see this station go off air and replaced with that awful GMTV.Who wants scotland and scotland presenters shoved down their throats everyday? Please bring TV AM back and lets concentrate on OUR country ENGLAND!"
Fred Cornwell , Devon

"Trully miss waking up to good morning brittain and those eggs!!! It was such a shame GMtv took over, i miss all the programmes you provided, what I would have done during the school holidays without Timmy Mallett and WACADAY I don't know. My friends and I played malletts mallet in the street, complete with plasters over our mouths, it was great fun! Bring it Back!"
Richard Mark Stewart , Birkenhead

"An excellent, imformative website for TV-AM. The 1990 Broadcasting Act was the final nail in the coffin for ITV, stations such as Thames, TV-AM and TVS had the experience for quality programming. Instead what we now have is an ITV network more interested in profit than decent programmes. GMTV has never matched the standard of TV-AM, poor quality and rip off phone line competitions compared to television in the 80's which is now regarded as the golden age of ITV."
Clive Whalley , Oxford

"Speaking as the Sound FX person who worked most on the live Wacaday as Timmy Mallet's pink mallet, I'm so glad my 'i-i boing!!!' hit the mark and gave so much happiness to so many! "
Louise Tate , London

"Oh this brings back memories. Pretending to walk to school and then jumping into a friends house to watch after nine, then telling the teachers that the bus was late!! It was devastation when TV-AM lost the franchise and it was a sad day when we saw the last egg cups on our televisions. Out of protest, I chose not to watch GMTV on its start day. Good times!"
Kris Evans , Wales

"a golden era of television... i remember the franchise going to "sunrise" and was sad about the demise of tv-am and tvs. back then i didnt realise it was down to the conservatives and now i do will never vote for them again. look forward to seeing the tv-am museum and downloading the theme tune "
chris lewis , crawley

"Now that GMTV is being shown to have defrauded its viewers out of MILLONS of pounds, it's time we brought back the snug, funny, entertaining and altogether irresistible TV AM. Why it was removed in the first place is still a mystery to me."
Michael N , Birmingham

"I do wish TV-am would return. I am sick of GMTV as I cannot stand Fiona Phillips and Richard Arnold. I don't think they respect their viewers at all, especially when they put stories about celebrities being released from prison ahead of local flooding and hold unfair competitions where you can count yourself lucky if your entry was in! Please please bring back TV-am!"
Garreth Waites , Hartlepool

"As a regular guest I loved every minute,as a director of the news I learned so much from so many it was great. A week doesn't go by without a mention or story about someone or some event in the 9 yrs I was a part of TV-am. Great and lasting memories Ronnie "
Ronnie West , Los Angeles

"Joined the company in the early weeks of 1983 and 'departed' after the strike/lockout in late 1987. Worked in the Sound and Presentation departments. I thought it was going to be news and entertainment but it turned out to be news and drama! Had a fabulous and fun time at TV-am though and met some wonderful colleagues. For such a comparatively small company it certainly was a hothouse for so many future talents in the industry. Warm regards to all my former colleagues out there."
Philip N. Morgan , Singapore

"VERY GOOD PROGRAM THANK YOU"
GARY , WOODGREEN

"Wow - what a fantastic web find! TV-AM online! How cool. I have just spent the last hour going through this, and lost track of all time! I hope that this website is developed further to include some form of film from the past, this would really make my day! Good to see news on what people are doing now etc, also to read the chronolgy of the programme, as when you are a child watching it all gets confused! Thank you so much for this website!"
Scott Rennie , March, Cambridgeshire

"BRING BACK TV-AM! - I miss those days, TV-AM was the best breakfast TV programme itv had, the theme music and the "Great New Day" theme are top-class, the presenters were also the best, the format was good too, even the sofa looked so comfy. - If there was anything I could do within my power to axe GMTV (aka. "Give Me The Vallium [The Late Bob Monkhouse]) and replace it back with TV-AM, I would do it tomorrow, Shame thatcher brought in legislation that ended such a MARVELLOUS SHOW! Pffff"
Mark Broughton , Lancashire, UK

"After of these years GM-TV is boring and fake, not like TV-AM. I watched it from the start through to the last broadcast and miss the warmth and genuine-ness of the programmes. From Diana Dors through to Pat Pheonix and the unforegettable Roland Rat (still have his records, even though I was far to old at the time) and still have many other souvenirs. TV-AM come back, get rid of Andrew Castle on GM-TV he's terrible. Long live Roland Rat. "
Tony Neil Morris , Kimberworth, Rotherham, South Yorkshire

"Great site I loved TV am hated Roland though. Can I ask have the Egg Cups been reinstated back on the building? Or have the been completely removed? If they have been removed Why? as it is now a listed building and where are they?? I guess as the building is listed that any unveiling of the Old T V a m at the front of the building would need planning permission then. Love the site guys c",) Wish central and all other regions could be like they use to be and get rid of monotomous itv"
Mike Thompson , Derby

"Fantastic site, congratulations. I had close links with the station and some of the stars made jingles for my radio programme,Nick Owen and Roland rat amongst them!Sadly miss the mornings now and certainly never bother with GMTV.Wincey Willis presents the Saturday breakfast show at BBC Coventry and I believe Mike Morris works for a film company whilst Nick Owen presents BBC Midlands Today in Birmingham(where he started). Actually I was one of the apparantly few people who enjoyed Good Morning with Anne(a live guest on one of my radio shows) and Nick on BBC 1 which had SOMETHING of the feel of TV AM about it. Keep up the good work on this site. "
Tony Worrall , Wales

"I loved TV-AM. I used to watch it every day before going to school. Anne and Nick has to be the ultimate presenting duo that's ever been on breakfast TV. This website has bought back some wonderful memories for me. I wish TV-AM was still on air."
JJ , Anglesey

"This website reminds me of the inspiration that was TV-am. Without Lizzie, I would probably be an old washed up drunk right now. TV-am FOREVER."
William Winterton , London, Tokyo, the World

"oh the good old days i just stated work as a traffic warden in bristol when tvam started i just wish we could do it all over again. "
mark robinson , bristol

"This site has put me into the obsession of TV-am and made me fall in love with it more than any TV station in the world. Long live TV-am."
Ben J. Ballard , United States

"What a wonderful website. I grew up watching TV-am. I remember getting up early to work out with Lizzie. I also remember Timmy Mallett and Wacaday. Keep up the good work and thank you for the nostalgic memories. "
Karen , Cheltenham

"TV-AM looked really good to watch i've only seen clips of it because i was born in 1993 but i'm a really big fan of duran duran and i was looking round on youtube and i saw a clip of John Taylor on TV-AM or Good Morning Britain i don't know if there the same thing or not, but it seemed so much better to watch than GMTV. It would be great if TV-AM came back on the tele, to be honest i wish they could show a lot more 80's programmes. I really want TV-AM to come back on air."
Zoe , Surrey

"TV-AM was such a great TV station, with superb shows like Wacaday and Roland Rat. It was a great mix for both adults and kids. Since TV-AM there never has been such a decent mix, GMTV is way too serious and the same with BBC News. The only one that came slightly close was C4's The Big Breakfast, but even that's been axed - actually what do C4 put on in the mornings now, it's been so long since I even bothered turning on the TV in the morning? Maybe it would be really good to bring back TV-AM as an internet channel so we can watch new TV-AM online!"
Darren Forster , Warrington

"oh what wounderful memeries"
janet longman , essex

"Great site and we forget just how good breakfast tv was. Please come back tvam i have got the last one on vhs and even though its 1992 it still looks better than gmtv"
Ant Mansell , Hereford

"It was one of the worst things to vanish from TV. GMTV just didn't hack it. BRING BACK TV-AM!!!! I'm sure that ITV would make more revenue if it did and it would save the station. Bring back the old presenters and the old theme tune. I'd watch it. It was quality morning TV with a homely feeling about it. Non of these flashy studios and plenty of humorous bits. And the good morning Britain bit at the beginning just made it personal and proud to be British. We need that back. And I was only about 7 at the time!"
Matthew Hutchinson , Plymouth

"I remeber TV-AM as i was born in 1989 best stuff ever on the box, pity that it ended on Friday 1st January 1993. Please bring back TV-AM even if it means on the new Channel 6 provided by ULTV."
S Dawson , Yorkshire

"I really want my daughter to hear the song for christmas from tvam from 1988, I know it was sung by Lottie and the first lyrics were 'it was the 24th december and the snow was falling deep'. I've goggled it, but i don't know what the song is actually called and the search is returning no results. Does anyone know of a website where i can find it?"
Louise , Wolverhampton

"I can't believe it's gone, I was actually on tvam when I was a baby as my parents had adopted myself and my sister from ethiopia!' and I guess at the time with sir bob geldolf doing his live aid stuff it made the news!! "
Febn jane challis , London

"I worked at tv-am from nov'82-nov'89 and from then on as a freelancer. During that time, I was employed variously as a studio assistant(props),rigger/driver,props buyer, and towards the end, I even trained up as a vt editor! Because of the hours, it became a life-style rather than a mere job. I met many wonderful people there, and remember them all as something like long lost family. Love and kisses to you all."
johnny atkins , scottish borders

"This is a great website - I loved TV-am and it was a shame to see them go, especially after knowing that, Sunrise, later GMTV, bought the franchise for more then TV-am offered - but later that was reduced to a lesser amount - which was the same as TV-am offered! I think the TV-am logo and titles was the best - GMTV should re-introduce it and rename as 'Good Morning Britain'! I loved the TV-am intro and music – I find it on a website every now and then and watch and listen to it! I was at school when TV-am came on air - I later worked at the BBC, I tried to get a job at TV-am, but failed. I worked in admin for the BBC - but to earn a bit extra, I answered the phones on BBC Breakfast Time - I used to make my tea and coffee behind the set and went on set to have a look just before broadcast. I also made my tea and coffee in the studio while they were broadcasting. I answered the phones in the next door studio's control room for Newsnight - both programmes were broadcast from the Lime Grove studios - the BBC sent a taxi to pick me up for doing this. The taxi ride probably cost more than the extra the BBC paid me for doing this - but I loved it. In those days, the trains didn't run too early. So they had to send a taxi to me or get someone nearer. Then at 9am I had to make my own way across London to my job in the west end for 9.30am at The Langham and then later at Henry Wood House - both next to Broadcasting House. At BBC BreakfastTime there was a bank of monitors in front of us, showing all of the different angles in the studio next door and one monitor was tuned to TV-am - for us to see what was going on, on the other side. My colleagues and me were always looking at TV-am and talked about TV-am. But we did have to look at the BBC Breakfast Time monitors when the phone in guest was on! Even while I was working at the BBC, I so wanted to worked for TV-am or ITV. I left the BBC, as I had such a horrible boss – she was later made redundant, so I should have stayed! I do remember one time I was there and a TV-am exclusive came on. I think the BBC was on the understanding that they could show it, they did, and covered the TV-am Exclusive sigh - I think the BBC put up a BBC Exclusive sigh over the TV-am's one - but in those days, graphics weren’t good, in the 80's, you could see the TV-am Exclusive underneath. It was a bad move for the BBC, as I think TV-am took them to court! I was there at the phone in's for Prince Andrew's wedding to Sarah Ferguson - I think that was the last BBC Breakfast Time phone I did! I now work in finance and have done for years! So if you are looking for someone who knows about finance in the media - contact me. TV-am - let's get GMTV to use TV-am's Good Morning Britain logo! It would be good to see!"
